Most people do not even know what “the lobster effect” is – and even when you tell them, they fail to see how it affects them and their success, or lack of it (even if they are suffering from precisely that …).

But what is the “lobster effect”?

Well, consider the behaviour of lobsters. You can place a number of lobsters in a shallow tray – and NONE of them will be able to get out, even if it is low enough for them to climb over. You know why?

Because every time one wants to climb over the site, another one pulls him back…..:)

(sorry, bud – you’re not going anywhere….:)

Sound familiar?

“you will never be able to pull it off”…

“get that crap out of your head and just get a job”…

“stop dreaming”…

THEIR limited beliefs are holding YOU back. They are literally poisoning your mind with negative thoughts – destroying all the positive programming you have been trying to do…

Firstly, let me start off by saying that you have to be sensible. If you are not built to be an athlete, you may never become one. If you can’t keep a note, you can’t sing. However, there are many great things in life that have been achieved by average, ordinary people with a bit of vision and a lot of persistence. So decide for yourself…

But as far as the lobsters go…

Think logically – if you wanted an opinion on becoming a millionaire, would you ask a secretary or a plumber?

NO

You SHOULD ask a (self-made) millionaire – because HE knows what does and does not work, having achieved it already.

DO NOT allow people to decide about YOUR future – who are NOT qualified to do so. Your friends and family may mean well – but they cannot offer any advice on things they have not achieved themselves.

So how do you handle it?

Simple:

Stop talking to them about your plans. As far as they are concerned, what you are doing on the side-line is simply a hobby you are indulging in, or you decided to take a job you love because you are not after the money….

The moment they think that you are “not planning to go anywhere”, they will let you go…

And stop holding you back from the success you worked for.
