Today I will use my subconscious mind to master my emotions. Just as Mother Nature has her moods and her cycles, so I, too, have moods that rise and fall like the waves in the ocean. Tides are affected by the waxing and waning of the moon. Since I am as much a part of Nature as the flowers and the trees, I am also prone to ups and downs in mood and temperament.

Today I will be the master of my mind. I am fully aware that my mood will be different today from what it was yesterday. It is as if there is a wheel constantly turning inside of me. It goes from sadness to joy, from exultation to depression and from cheerfulness into despondency almost without my control. “I will remember that as today’s dead flower carries a seed of tomorrow’s bloom, so, too, does today’s sadness carry the seed of tomorrow’s joy.” (Og Mandino)

Today I will use my subconscious mind to master my emotions. Just as Mother Nature has her moods and her cycles, so I, too, have moods that rise and fall.Today I will be the master of my subconscious mind. The trick to this is to bear in mind the secret of the ages: “Weak is he who permits his thoughts to control his actions; strong is he who forces his actions to control his thoughts.” Each day, I will carpe diem, when I wake up, I will follow this battle plan in order to avoid being captured
by the forces of sadness, self-pity and failure. I fight off depression with a song; I fend off sadness with laughter; I fight illness by not focusing on it and by doubling my labours instead and if I feel fear I will acknowledge that fear and carry on regardless. Inferiority and uncertainty can be overcome by dressing smartly and talking with confidence! Rather than focusing on thoughts of poverty, I will focus on wealth to come; if I feel incompetent, I will focus on past success; if I feel insignificant, I will focus on my goal.

Today I will use my subconscious mind to master my emotions. Just as Mother Nature has her moods and her cycles, so I, too, have moods that rise and fall.Today I will be the master of my subconscious mind. From now on, I know that only those with inferior ability can always be at their best and I am not inferior. Yes, there will be days when I will find myself struggling against forces which threaten to tear me down. I will master my emotions. Some of these forces are easily recognised such as sadness and despair. But there are others, which approach with a sly smile and the hand of friendship and these can be equally destructive. I must take care to constantly recognise and guard against allowing them to take control. If I see myself becoming overconfident, I will recall my failures; if I notice myself overindulging in food and drink, I will remember past hungers; if I see myself becoming complacent, I will remember that my competitors might be waiting just around the corner and I will enjoy
moments of greatness, but within reason, not allowing these feelings to overcome me completely. If I begin to feel all powerful, I will remind myself that my limitations are many; if I become overly wealthy, I will remember those less fortunate than myself; if I become overly proud, I will remember the time when I was weak and if I feel my skill is unmatched, I will just look up at the stars.

Today I will be the use the power  of my subconscious mind. And if I realise that I have moods that change as often as the seasons, I will also understand and recognise that my customers and people on whom I call must surely have these same changes in mood and emotion. I will thus make allowances for a customer’s anger and irritation, for he knows not the secret of controlling his mind. If I can withstand the arrows and insults my customer hurls at me today, I know that tomorrow he will change and be a joy to approach. “My knowledge of this secret will be positive action.” (Og Mandino)

From now on, I will harness my moods into positive action. And once I have mastered my moods, I will then be able to control my destiny.
