Power of Positive thinking

The power of positive thinking is a habit can mean the difference between success and failure.  If you tell yourself you can, then you will.  But, if you tell yourself you can’t, and then you are right, you won’t.

We often place limitations on ourselves by our fear of failure.  Instead of concentrating on how we will feel when we succeed, we rather dwell on how devastated and humiliated we will feel when we fail.  If we place positive expectations on ourselves and forget about the fear of failure we will achieve so much more.

Surround yourself with positive expectations and with positive people.  Have you ever been in a work environment where there are a few pessimistic individuals?  They tend to harp on the negative and in no time at all, the entire office becomes a buzz of negativity.  It can be very contagious. The power of positive thinking can lift you out of the depths of despair.

A good illustration of this is the headmaster who chose 30 of the top students in the school and placed them in the same class.  He then chose the three top teachers in the school to teach this class. The aim was to achieve the highest pass rate in the region.  The students worked hard and the teachers worked harder.  Both students and teachers willingly gave up sports and socials in order to attend extra lessons.  They were so proud of their accomplishments and of being the top pupils that they worked extra hard to achieve their goals.  The outcome was an exceptional score in the ratings.  When congratulated the teachers were first to say the success was all due to the talented children.  However, the headmaster then revealed that what had actually happened was that he had chosen 30 random children throughout the grade and the teachers had been selected by placing all their names in a hat and pulling out three names.  Everyone was flabbergasted, but it showed that the power of positive thinking can be the difference between success and failure.  These children and teachers believed that they were the best and in so doing produced the best of their capabilities.  They pushed themselves beyond their normal expectations.

Positive expectations are the difference between achieving your dreams or just watching them float away.  Believe that you can and you will!

Be careful how you speak to people or to your children.  Do not label them clumsy or stupid or slow.  Install in them the power of positive thinking and they will achieve greatness.

The fear of failure can hold you back if you let it.  Do not focus on the stumbling blocks.  Every day you will come across a challenge of some kind. You can either attack it with positive expectations and the will to succeed or you can let the fear of failure override your positive expectations and cause you to fail.

Positive expectations are infectious.  If you go through life seeing the positive side of everything, people will ridicule you for seeing the world through rose tinted spectacles, but it is better to dream and to succeed than to never dream at all and fail.

People in general like to be pessimistic.  We live in a hard world.  it is often survival of the fittest.  If you approach life with positive expectations and with the words ‘I will’ and ‘I shall’, your success rate will be so much more.

Believe in yourself.  Believe that you can and that you will succeed.  If you sow seeds of failure you will only achieve failure, but if you sow seeds of hope, your positive expectations will ensure your success.
